New Century Nightclub, Hanoi's biggest and noisiest club, finally had its long run of luck run out on April 28 with 500 military police raiding the venue and arresting 1160 people.

Reports vary, but it is thought that between 200 - 500 people tested positive for some kind of drug use (which might explain, if not excuse, the club’s terrible music).

It is worth noting that other bars around town, such as Solace and Dragonfly, were closed down the same night, though no wholesale arrests were made.
